2024 Topps Inception Baseball cards put many of baseball’s brightest young stars under the spotlight while still mixing in your favorite veterans and several legends of the game. Topps ties everything together with a thrilling artistic design, giving these cards a museum-quality look and feel.

Collectors will continue to find one autograph or autographed memorabilia card in every hobby box, and the chase will be on for new short-printed base cards, new parallels, and new autograph concepts.

2024 Topps Inception Baseball Checklist Overview

The rookie-centric base set again clocks in at 125 cards, but this year’s edition has a new twist – a series of 25 short prints at the end of the checklist. Inception features 71 total rookie cards, including nine that are short printed.

Collectors will find two parallels from the first 100 cards of the set per hobby box, including:

  • Green
  • Yellow – /199
  • Purple – /150
  • Magenta – /99
  • Red – /75
  • Gold Electricity – /50
  • Blue – /25
  • Orange – /10
  • Inception – 1/1

On average, collectors will find one of the 25 short prints in every other box. Lucky collectors may find an SSP Alpha parallel.

Another popular returning feature is a large Base Rookie and Emerging Stars autograph checklist. Collectors will find on-card signatures from 83 of baseball’s brightest young players, including eight parallels:

  • Purple – /199
  • Green – /125
  • Magenta – /99
  • Aqua – /75
  • Red – /50
  • Orange – /25
  • Blue – /5
  • Inception – 1/1

Additional Autographs

But the autographed cards don’t stop there, as 2024 Topps Inception gives collectors a variety of additional options, including several new concepts.

Back for another year are Inception Silver Signings, which feature bold metallic silver signatures and are each numbered to /99. Parallels include Gold Ink (/25) and Gold Ink Inscriptions (1/1). Also returning are Dual Autographs and Triple Autographs, which combine related duos and trios on a single card, and Dawn of Greatness autographs, a 12-card set of retired players heavy on Hall of Famers.

Collectors can find three new numbered autograph concepts – Transformation, Charged Particles, and Immersion – and each have three parallels (Red, Blue, and 1/1 Inception). Transformation cards show two images of each player, a rookie picture and a current one. Charged Particles autographs are designed to mimic how the inside of a particle accelerator looks, and Immersion autographs are also design-focused, with colorful paint sliding in drips behind a player’s image.

Autographed Memorabilia Cards

2024 Topps Inception is again loaded with autographed memorabilia cards, of both player-worn and game-used varieties. MLB First Milestone cards return, combining a player’s autograph with game-used bases from the game they debuted or collected their first hit, home run, or pitching strikeout. There are Red (/20), Orange (/10), Blue (/5), and Inception (1/1) parallels of each card.

Two players are specially featured: Jasson Dominguez with a slice of each base he touched after his first home run and cards featuring a base used from Elly De La Cruz’s first career homer. Both players have Red (/25), Orange (/10), Blue (/5), and Inception (1/1) parallels.

More than 40 players have Autographed Patch cards in this year’s set. Parallels include Green (/99), Magenta (/75), Aqua (/50), Red (/25), Orange (/10), Blue (/5), Inception (1/1), and MLB logo (1/1). The signed memorabilia hits continue with Quad Relic Autographs, Jumbo Patch cards, Game Sock cards, and Game Hat cards, and collectors will be chasing 1/1 parallels that feature prominent logos (such as MLB, New Era, and 59fifty).

Booklet cards include Team Logo and Laundry Tag patches, while Gameday Gear booklets feature combos of autographs and memorabilia from rookies. Collectors can also find Dual Autograph Booklets that also have relics.
